How to assign a quiz in Quizizz
Hello, there!
Let's see how to assign a quiz we created
I imagine you have created one or two quizes and you are wondering how to share it with your students. If that's your case, keep on reading this post, and by the end of it you will have shared your quiz with your students.
-->remember than some functions are for "super" accounts (premium), so this post will only mention the free features of this app.
Where are my quizes?
Well, if you JUST created and published your quiz, then it will still appear on your screen! If that's your case, you will see somthing like this:
If you want to use the quiz with your students live (synchronically), click on the option that in the image appears with a grey rectangle on. Then two options will show: classic or instructor paced. (If not, keep reading)- Classic: once you click on this option. three other options will show. Whether you want your students to answer at their own pace, but have their grades grouped by teams, or if you want your students to have individual grades. In the second case, you can choose a serious setting to use in an important evaluation instance (in this case, students have to sign into their accounts to answer the quiz), or the classic mode which includes in which students can enjoy of the engaging features of Quizizz and where students don't need to register to participate.
- Instructor paced: if you click this option, you will control the pace of the task completion. You can start the quiz after at least one student has entered the quiz.
I want to assign my quiz as a homework though!
Don't worry! You can do that by clicking on the purple button that in the screenshot above has a blue rectangle on. If you click on "assing as homework", you will have to select the deadline. The deadline for the assignment can't be longer than 15 days. (You have to sale the date and exact hour).
--> Once you have chosen any of the option listed above, you will have to decide on some assessment characteristics. For example, whether you want your quiz to include memes (funny pictures check the image below), music, if students can re-take an answer they have previously failed at answering, if you want to include "power ups", etc. To make it more engaging for students, I suggest you turn on the “power ups”, “music” and “show memes”. You can select the meme groups you think will result funnier to your students, and to foster a healthy competitiveness among them, you can click on “show the leaderboard”.
The options that you will see look like the following pic (some options will not be available depending on whether you are going to assign it as a homework, student paced live or instructor paced live).
How to share your quiz with your students
Once you have saved all of the settings from above, Quizizz will generate a link and a code for your quiz. Depending on your settings, quiz will require your students to enter both the link and the code, or simply enter the link. In addition, Quizizz provides you some ways of sharing the link; however, they also vary in relation to your previous settings. The most recurrents are "copy the link and code" and "add it to a class". The other options are shown in the image below.
Right now! OK, let's imagine you created a couple of quizes, but you havent given them a use yet because you didn't know how to share it. The first thing you need to do is entering your Quizizz account. You will see on the left side of your screen home a button that says "my library". Click on it to find all of your quizes. They are order by default fom the most recent to the oldest. Find the one you want to share, and click on it!
Now, your screen will show something like the first image on this post, right? Then you are ready to follow all of the steps listed above! Having created the quiz just now or two months ago does not make a difference in the process of sharing your work with others, so follow the guide from above and you will be able to share your work.
Extra tip!
To check your students' progress click on "reports" (on the left side of your screen home, right below "my library"). You will find there all the information regarding your students' performances in the different quizes you have asked them to participate. This information can help you decide what topics you should reinforce, which students need more practice, and what exercises where especifically difficult for them to solve!
There are many more interesting features in Quizizz, so I would suggest you spending some time in discovering them!
If you have any doubt or suggestion, don't hesitate in leaving a comment!
Have a great day/night!
